Welcome!

East Coast Power had planned to construct a  gas-fired power station of approx 200 MW at Narrabri in  northern NSW. The power station was to be located on an 85 acre property located approximately 2.5 km from the existing Transgrid and Country Energy switchyards. Planning NSW Director General’s Requirements for the project were obtained under the Part 3A planning approval process that existed at the time.

However it now seems unlikely that a secure source of competitively priced gas can be secured in the region and accordingly the project has been indefinitely deferred.
